Adding A Little Rice To Our Diet

Visitors: Mark Innocents, Tina Phan, Chris Dungca, Alice Chen, Zack (3J shop Dog)

HOORAY!! Our first post under our new name and as treat we decided to make one MEGA post for our followers. In this Post the 3J crew steps up their light game with SMD L.E.Ds interior/exterior lights, our almost monthly oil change parties and mark applys vinyls on his fogs. Although, we do not condone or support any type of ricyness, we like to think of it as "luxury ambient lighting". Enjoy our mega post

Backround: 2 days ago, Gil, via AIM, was complaining to Jeff about how weak the interior light is in the Miata. But Gil didn't just want those old school white bulbs they used to sell back in the day, he wanted something crazier. With the internet at his disposal and living in the heart of SGV, Gil found the perfect solution which spead like a can of worms through out the 3J crew.
Gil and Jeff head to JLC Lighting (located at 633 South San Gabriel #109, San Gabriel, CA 91776) to check out what these SMD LEDs are all about.

After a quick demo from Jack (JLC Sales Manager), we were quickly sold and bought 75 Dollars worth of ricy, we mean luxurious white interior and exterior lights for the Miata, 350z, WRX and G35.
adapters to fit the stock light housings
Remember these from way back when?
Now a days SMD leds provide a brighter and longer lasting solution to your ricer luxury needs. this particular light is for the G35s map lights
we bought 4 sets of thse for the license plate lights for the Miata(which did not fit), WRX, 350z and G35
The 'Bow picked up a set of thse bad boys for his front parking lights
Caps taken off Abo's Z
Stock bulb removed
New SMD LEDs installed (results at the bottom of the page)
(Top) Gil installing the LED.//Even during the day Jeff's blackberry camera had trouble capturing the LED, the camera needed the flash to help soften the light coming from the LEDs
The Gs turn
Stock bulb ( same as the 350z)
LEDs added, cute arent they?
Again flash was needed to take a clean picture of the LEDs
Stock Map light in the G35
Both caps and bulbs removed
Jeff installing the mm bulb converter to a SMD LED strip (gloves protect the lights from the skins natural oils)
Test run
Comparison between the two lights. But Jeff thought it wasn't ricy luxiourious enough, so Gil and The 'Bow went back to JLC and got a pair of.................

14 screws total in order to remove the panel

There she goes
Now for the oil filter
Abos such a beast, he drains the oil filter and the oil pan at the same time using a single oil catch pan
Valerie's so spoiled, Nismo oil filter // (backround shows both oil trails neatly landing in the oil catch pan)
Nismo oil filters were all out at the dealer so Abo settled for the Oem filter
Picture of the SMD LED inside the head light housing
Time to call it a day.

Post Project Comments:
SMD LEDs are cool we mean luxurious
Please dont think were ricers
Stock light bulbs for some reason are always hot and love to burn your ass
VQ oil changes are still a bitch
